Caring for the community
Since 1988, past and present executives have infused the organization with a strong commitment to perform at the highest level, care for one another, and give back to those in need. ABODA and its employees are committed to serving the community and making a difference through service projects and charitable contributions.

For example, employees dedicate a Saturday each year to painting the interior and exterior of a home that will be used by a homeless family trying to get back on its feet. The activity benefits the non-profit organization called The Way Back Inn. ABODA Corporate Housing also provides interim housing to Way Back Inn families as they save for first and last month's rent and the necessary deposits required when moving into permanent housing.

The ABODA family has participated in Operation Nightwatch for over 4 years. Operation Nightwatch serves the community by caring for homeless men, women and children late at night. Once a month ABODA staff and management purchase cook and serve home cooked meals for up to 150 people. We serve people from all walks of life, young mothers fleeing abuse, older workers without a pension, stranded families, the mentally ill and anyone in need of compassion.

ABODA Corporate Housing also donates a number of suites to families caring for loved ones receiving medical treatment at Puget Sound area hospitals.

In 2001, ABODA, then known as Northwest Suites Inc., co-sponsored the first-ever Benaroya Research Institute (BRI) Seafair Triathlon. Pledges were channeled to support continued research for the causes and cures of autoimmune diseases including, diabetes, arthritis and cancer.

ABODA Charitable Contribution Match Program has been established to encourage employees to support organizations that help others by supplying health, welfare and other life enhancing services. Through this program, ABODA gives employees the opportunity to determine a portion of the Corporation's gifts to charities. Monetary gifts and volunteer hours contributed by eligible employees to qualified charities will be matched with corporate dollars.

These are just a few of the many expressions of caring that the employees of ABODA extend to the community throughout the year. To follow is a partial list of the many organizations that benefit from our charitable efforts.
